One of the most anticipated albums of 2011 is Lady Gaga's follow up to her 2009 release The Fame Monster EP and it appears that Glee wants a piece of her ever-burgeoning fame. The co-creator of the television series, Ryan Murphy, has told Entertainment Weekly that the lead single from her new album will likely be featured in an episode expected to air in March or April, and was chosen for its inspirational lyrics. The episode, which will revolve around gay bullying and homophobia, is not the first to honor Lady Gaga as a May 2010 episode paid tribute to the pop star's music and fashion.
"Born This Way," the title track off of Lady Gaga's second album, has been described as uplifting and anthemic. Considering Gaga's activism for gay rights, the co-creator feels the choice to feature the still unheard track in such an episode is an important one. He says, "This show is by nature optimistic and I think a character like Karofsky could turn to booze or pills or alcohol and kill themselves or do something dark. But I also love Max and I love that character and I sorta want that character to have a happy ending. So I don’t really know what that’s going to be, but I do know we’re going to do a whole episode that’s about that song.” The song is expected to premiere February 13, while the album is expected to hit stores May 23. Gleeks and Monsters, are you ready?
