Nicki Minaj Tosses Diddy As Manager
Nicki Minaj made news last year when she ditched her longtime manager Debra Atney for Diddy just months before the release of her platinum-selling Pink Friday. But it seems that the business honeymoon is over between the two as the Young Money princess has chosen to switch managers again, this time selecting Hip Hop Since 1978 to take the responsibility of her marketing and promotional ventures.
According to XXL.com, while the split was amicable, Minaj and her team cited limited involvement and initiative on behalf of Diddy as the reason for their parting ways. Even with his minimal engagement, it has not seemed to hurt the Queens native as she spends another week in the top 40 on the Billboard 200 and her fourth single is resting very comfortably on the charts as "Super Bass" is currently #11 on iTunes.
Her new management has managed Lil Kim before (ironic, don't you think) but more successfully has represented Kanye West, Drake and Lil Wayne. Do you think this management change is a good thing?

A Third the Way Through: How's 2011 Been?
At the end of 2010, Katy Perry was atop the singles charts in America and several other national charts, while Susan Boyle capitalized on what worked with her debut album as she secured her reign atop the album charts around the world for a second holiday season. But exactly how the first few months of 2011 would shape out would surely be an interesting ride.
The big story thus far this year has been Adele's enormous success. Having the strongest first week sales of any album this year and being the first album of 2011 to cross the platinum barrier, Adele's 21 has officially confirmed that her transatlantic journey proved to be successful. Add to that the growing momentum of her lead single "Rolling in the Deep," she may be the first British female with a number one album and single since Leona Lewis accomplished that feat in 2008.
Another major story was Britney Spears's return to music. Her lead single "Hold It Against Me" would preform quite well on the charts, debuting at number one on the Hot 100 with over 400,000 copies sold in its first seven days on digital music media. Unfortunately, the song strong entrance on the charts would be short-lived as the song rapidly fell off the charts (largely because of the absence of any promotion). March would prove to be far better as the album debuted at number one, her sixth chart-topper and the youngest artist to do so.

Nicki Minaj Takes Over SNL
Nicki Minaj took to SNL last night to perform and take a stab at her comedic skills. The "Moment 4 Life" rapper performed her two hits "Right Thru Me" and "Moment 4 Life" and the latter performance had Minaj with a the Bride of Frankenstein black and white wig. The highlight of the show was the comedy short in which Nicki joined Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island crew in a creeping music video.

Nicki Minaj and Cher Lloyd To Collaborate
Although Cher Lloyd was never crowned winner of The X-Factor, she is doing very big things for her debut album. According to many sources, the third runner-up is working with Nicki Minaj on new music for her upcoming LP.
A source close to the singer admitted Cher is a huge fan of the "Moment 4 Life" rapper and was very determined to get in the studio with her. Using her connections, including Will.i.am who dueted with both Cher and Nicki in the past, she was able to secure a collaboration in the near future.

VIDEO PREMIERE: "Moment 4 Life" by Nicki Minaj featuring Drake
Nicki Minaj has invoked the many stage personalities for which she has become known in the new video for "Moment 4 Life." Her Godmother Martha Zolanski (mother of Minaj personality Roman Zolanski) tells the femcee of her moment for life, after which Nicki, wearing a headdress of yellow gold and cascading diamonds, moves through the palatial mansion of partygoers. The train of her turquoise gown trails the "Right Thru Me" rapper/singer, before a cotton candy pink-wigged Minaj meets with her fellow Young Money star, Drake, with open arms.
The dapper Canadian emcee raps his part, before the two approach the altar, against a backdrop of flowing fireworks. The two never officially lock lips, but as the clock strikes midnight, their lips near and retract as the fireworks display overtakes the two.

Nicki Minaj Hysteria Overtakes London
Nicki Minaj has spent the past few days on her promotional tour around London, all the while her presence has ignited enormous fanaticism from her so-called barbiez. This marks the rapper/singer-songwriter's first visit to the British Isles since the release of her debut album Pink Friday and her British fans have made the rapper feel loved.
When speaking with DJ Semtex about the fan uproar her visit has caused, the emcee responded, "I've never gone through this in my life. I wish I could have this moment for life. This moment right now, being here, is the best thing in the world."

NEW MUSIC: "Roman's Revenge 2.0" by Nicki Minaj featuring Lil Wayne
"Roman's Revenge" is the massive diss record released by Nicki Minaj that sent the internet a flutter and featured Eminem. It was immaculately produced and featured scathing verses from both emcees, but a song this good surprisingly did not feature the musical patriarch of Minaj's career, the one and only Lil Wayne. That is, until now. The song has undergone a renovation with Weezy replacing Em's verse, along with a more pronounced Nicki during the chorus.

Rihanna and Nicki Minaj Pose on Set of "Fly"
Rihanna and Nicki Minaj were look smoking hot on the set of music video for "Fly," the third single off of Nicki's debut album Pink Friday. Tweeted on the Bajan singer's twitter page, the picture shows Rihanna sporting a straightened, fiery-red hairdo while Nicki was wearing a long, curly, almost jet-black wig. The photo initiated a flirty exchange between the two artists, with Rihanna tweeting, "Me and Nikki (sic) in our new crib, lol! Gettin busy on set of FLY!!! Its so hard to keep my hands off," to which Nicki replied, "lol. If we're gonna liv 2gthr and hook up u gotta learn how 2 spell my name! Lmaooooooo. ---- Gossip Gossip ni#@a just stop it! :p." Jokingly, Rihanna replied to Nicki's tweet by tweeting, "b*tch don't u hear me askin what my OWN name is??? Lol! My bad, I'll make it up to u *wink*," referring to the 22 year old's hit song, "What's My Name?"
In other Rihanna news, the singer makes UK history as the first female artist to have a number one in each of the past five years, with her first number one hit "Umbrella" topping the UK charts in 2007 and her aforementioned hit "What's My Name?" getting to number one this week. The singer's LP has also stayed for a second week at number one on the UK albums chart and is almost 4x platinum in the country with less than two months worth of sales.

Nicki MInaj on Album Success: "I deserve it this time!"
Last Christmas, Nicki Minaj had dreams of success; this Christmas, she's reveling in it. And for good reason too, as the 26 year-old emcee has sold 852,000 copies of her debut album, Pink Friday in less than two months of release. The singer/rapper talked with MTV about her success this past year, including the platinum-certified album of hers and how its sales are stacking up with the other big name of hip hop who released the same week as her.
"[Kanye] got a good start, he beat me the first week," she said, as she has narrowed down the 100,000 sales advantage of West's first weeks sales to a mere 30,000, a number that will likely continue to narrow if her recent sales edge over her peer emcee persists.
U.S. Billboard 200 Chart Update
The thing about releasing a holiday album is that although it may dominate sales during the holiday season, it will inevitably spiral down the charts after Christmas, something most evident in this week's Billboard 200 chart. Some of last week's strong chart players have tumbled down the charts, such as Susan Boyle's The Gift, which loses 92 percent of last week's sales and free-falls from number 2 to number 31 with 19,000. Jackie Evancho's O Holy Night has 89 percent of last week's shaved off to fall from number 4 to number 34, while the Glee Christmas album collapses from number 3 to leaving the top 100 at number 108, a sales hit of 96 percent.
