Beyonce to Star in Clint Eastwood-Directed "A Star is Born" Remake

Working on one of the most anticipated albums of 2011, Beyonce seems to be establishing herself as the music star of this upcoming year(s). This really seems to be the case now that the singer/actress has been selected as the star of Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood's remake of the fourth version of the 1937 film, A Star is Born.

The film was remade for the first time in 1954 with Judy Garland as the female starring role and a second time in 1976 starring Barbara Streisand. With filming beginning in the fall, the picture is expected to have a mid-to-late 2012 release and although Eastwood has yet to cast the male lead, rumors of Will Smith, hubby Jay-Z, Robert Downey Jr. and Dreamgirls co-star Eddie Murphy have been suggested.

Beyonce has become a respected actress since performing in some critically acclaimed roles recently. It appears that with her successful musical career, business ventures, and clothing designs, the Houston-native is well on her way of being a burgeoning icon of the 21st century.
