Adele's "21" Dominates UK Albums Chart

Adele's sophomore album 21 has debuted at number one on the UK Albums chart with sales of 208,000 copies. Not only does this mark the singer's second UK number one album, it marks the highest sales week for an January release in five years. The album, which unseated Bruno Mars's Doo-Wops and Hooligans at the top, has received rave reviews.

As if nearly going platinum the first week was not enough, the release of the album has reignited interest in the singer's first album 19, which has risen up the charts to number four. This marks the first time in twelve years that an artist had two albums in the top five, while the singer has two singles from two different albums in the top 20. The lead single "Rolling in the Deep" drops 2-3 while her song "Make You Feel My Love" from 19 rises 19-15.

It is exciting to see her success continuing with her new album. If you're wondering how she charted in the US, that data won't be available until next month, at which the singer has scheduled the release of her album stateside. I will be making a music review of the album shortly so stay tuned!
