Britney Spears Expected to Debut atop Hot 100 Next Week

Britney's officially back! The 29 year-old has shattered radio airplay records and sales for her new single "Hold It Against Me" are reportedly exploding, according to industry insiders. The singer broke a nearly three year old record when her new song shattered first-day spins for a song with 705, which breaks the 498 spins Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" received in February 2008. Now with the song's digital release to iTunes and other music outlets, it appears that the singer is on pace to sell more than 400,000 copies of her song.

Billboard is reporting due to the massive radio airplay growth of the song and one of the highest first week sales for a female artist, "Hold It Against Me" will likely debut atop the Hot 100 next week. This week's number one is "Grenade" by Bruno Mars and although the track will have the advantage at radio for next weeks chart, Spears's new track is expected to more than double the digital sales of its nearest competitor. That will make it an easy number one atop the Hot 100.

Clearly Britney's song has become a huge success and with rumors of Grammy performances and a highly anticipated album, it appears the mother of two is retaining her pop throne for the time being.
