NEW VIDEO: "Back to December" by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has premiered the video of her next single "Back to December" today, a song heavily rumored to be a mea culpa to Taylor Lautner after the their short-lived relationship fizzled last year. The solemn pop ballad features a dynamic orchestra instrumental and a much lesser country feel and the music video follows the solemnity and wintry cold lyrics of the song.

The music video consists of alternating shots of a dressed down Taylor Swift and her former love interest meandering aimlessly against the music. As Swift is in her apartment, she sings with lament with the pain of lament painted upon her face. The actor playing her scorned lover, who by the way shares no physical resemblance whatsoever to Lautner, is seen walking through a snow-glazed baseball field, cutting in with the occasional shots of him sitting alone on the bleachers with his face in his hands.

Snow begins falling in Swift's apartment and shots of her leaving a letter in his coat pocket are quickly followed by his discovery and subsequent reading of the letter. After reading it, he exhales, a painful realization of what she has written to him. With this, the camera pans out, showing the Swift's ex walking alone on through the against a backdrop of a snow-capped neighborhood.

The video is an appropriate interpretation of the song and Taylor looks beautiful in it. I wonder what Taylor Lautner might have to say about this. Check out the video below:
