Christina Aguilera to Sing National Anthem at Super Bowl

Grammy award winning singer Christina Aguilera has snagged a very significant opportunity to parade those vocal chops in front of a huge crowd: the Super Bowl. Although the NFL would not officially confirm nor deny the reports, but it has all but been made official by insiders.

Aguilera's performance will be her first  National Anthem performance at the Super Bowl and will succeed Carrie Underwood, who sang the sacred song at last year's game. Her last time performing the game was in 2000, when she took the stage alongside Enrique Igelsias and Phil Collins during the half-time show.

Her performance is expected to begin before the 6:25pm kickoff time on Sunday, February 6. It is surprising this will be the first national anthem performance at the Super Bowl by Christina, who is renowned for her vocal range and prowess of her caliber. Hopefully this will usher in greater fortunes than her coldly-received Bionic album did.
