Keyshia Cole Leaves Longtime Manager

It appears that Keyshia Cole has decided to part ways with her longtime manager Manny Halley. According to R&B singer's twitter page, the 29 year-old will no longer be working with the same managment, as she tweeted, "Would like for you guys to know that Manny Halley is no longer my management." She goes on to say, "Some said if the people around you won't change, change the people around you."

Although there are no concrete reasons as to why she has chosen to change her management, it may stem from the lukewarm reception of her album Calling All Hearts's first single "I Ain't Thru," which managed to only peak at 54 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart while never making it onto the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, her album received little promotion and as a result her album has struggled to push substantial units, with sales of less than 200,000 copies in the U.S. with three weeks of sales.

The lack of promotion and poor sales are immediate signs that management reassignment is in need, especially since Keyshia has always been a solid albums seller. Her last album A Different Me sold 322,000 copies its first week in 2008, while this album has barely sold half of that over the course of three weeks. I think this decision will work in her favor and she still has the time to promote this album, and who knows, maybe she'll have another stint at reality TV. What do you think?
