Britney Spears' New Album Cover

Britney Spears has announced the (presumable) title of her upcoming album: Femme Fatale. The reason I say presumable is because cover artwork featuring the "Hold It Against Me" singer appeared on her twitter page, which of course could be the title and cover art work of an upcoming single or the album itself. However, immediately following the twitpic arrived a succinct one-word tweet that read, "March," the month in which the album is due to hit stores.

Check out the album cover artwork below:

The cover is mediocre. While Britney Spears looks impeccable, the austerity of the design leaves me feeling as if it was done in a 5 minute session of photoshop, especially in comparison with some of her other album covers. Those of Circus and even Blackout had some design originality that was aesthetically intriguing but this album cover seems weak considering the hype surrounding the project. Additionally, they preserve the font type of the single cover for Hold It Against Me, further diminishing even the slightest bit of originality that the design may have possessed.

As for the title name, it is perfect. It is one of those absolutely ideal titles for a Britney Spears album as she has molded her career around that femme fatale model. Just listen to the list of hit songs from Britney Spears: "Oops...I Did It Again," "If U Seek Amy," "I'm A Slave 4 U," and "Hold It Against Me." She plays the seductive woman in plots that attract the man, and in some cases, leads to his emotional demise. So while the album artwork could be improved, she did hit the nail on the head with its title. Femme Fatale is due out in stores on March 22nd in the U.S.
