Christina, Christina, Christina! Shame, shame, shame! As you all are very much aware of, Christina Aguilera has encountered some legal trouble in the wee-hours of this morning when she was arrested for public intoxication and her new hubby, Matthew Rutler, was arrested for DUI at 2:45AM in Los Angeles. But this is not a laughing matter.
At 30-years-old, Aguilera is the mother of a toddler and the child of an abusive father. Recent career hiccups, including her poorly-received album, Bionic, may be the culprits. Plus, her minor national anthem flub became trending topic on Twitter, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, and practically every news outlet from small-town America didn't help. Add to that, the singer has experienced a marriage that has recently failed, Does this give an excuse? No. But it does provide some reasoning for her recent actions. When Britney and Amy Winehouse had their very public breakdowns, it may have been a been fodder for tabloids, but from the perspectives of the musically appreciative, they were sad days.
As if this wasn't bad enough, Xtina's collaborator on the Grammy-award winning "Lady Marmalade," Pink, has taken to her twitter to address the situation. In her tweet, the "F**kin' Perfect" singer tweeted, "Out of Myself, Britney, and Christina-didn't everyone think I was gonna be the troublemaker? LOOK MA!!! No CUFFS!!" To think, Pink, Brit, and Xtina all came out at the same time and the only one to not become a tabloid spectacle was Pink. Kudos to Pink! I guess you can raise your glass tonight :)!
